Weight Regain on Zepbound: My Honest Two-Week Update

Weight regain on Zepbound was frustrating for me to talk about, but I wanted to be honest. After spending years sharing my weight loss and maintenance journey, I found myself struggling with constant thoughts about food, more frequent snacking, and clothes that no longer felt comfortable.

Two weeks before this video, I recorded a late-night update about where I was emotionally. I felt discouraged, but I also felt ready to revisit my routines.

In this follow-up, I share what changed during those two weeks, including my experience after moving to 10 mg, returning to cooking, and reconnecting with the encouragement of our community.

What I Noticed Before the Weight Regain

Looking back, I could see changes in my everyday habits.

As a fourth-grade teacher, I had been reaching for chocolates and other snacks throughout the school day. At home, I was spending less time preparing meals. Grocery trips sometimes included desserts that I intended to divide into portions but ended up finishing.

Those were patterns I noticed in my own life. They don’t explain everyone’s experience with weight regain, and they don’t mean that struggling with weight is a character flaw.

The CDC explains that medications, medical conditions, stress, hormones, genetics, and other factors can affect weight management. Its overview of weight management and support offers useful context beyond individual food choices. CDC

My Two-Week Results Need Context

In the video, I report a change from 166 pounds to 153 pounds over two weeks.

That is my personal scale update, rather than a result someone else should expect or try to match. I also mention that the first measurement was taken late in the evening and the second in the morning, so the conditions were different.

I suspected some of the change involved water weight, but I cannot determine how much was water versus other changes from those readings alone.

For general context, the CDC describes gradual weight loss of about one to two pounds per week as more likely to be maintained than faster loss. An appropriate pace during medical treatment is something to discuss with your healthcare professional. CDC

Weight Regain on Zepbound and Medication Questions

This update includes my first two weeks after moving to 10 mg. I describe feeling that medication gave me additional help with the food chatter I had been experiencing.

That is a personal observation. Because my eating routines changed at the same time, this video cannot establish how much of the outcome came from any one change.

My experience is also not a dosing recommendation. Medication choices and adjustments belong with your prescribing clinician. The NIDDK’s guide to prescription weight management medications explains why treatment decisions should account for individual benefits, risks, and health circumstances. NIDDK

Returning to Meals I Enjoyed Preparing

One practical change was spending time in my kitchen again.

I returned to breakfasts with scrambled eggs, fruit, and whole-grain crackers. I cut up fresh vegetables and put more thought into meals instead of repeatedly grazing throughout the day.

There was flexibility, too. When someone brought me lasagna for lunch, I enjoyed it.

In the video, I describe choosing to reduce the snacks and desserts that had become frequent for me. That reflects my own approach during this period; it isn’t a rule that everyone needs to avoid snacks or particular foods.

Why Community Made a Difference

Sharing that first difficult update helped me feel connected again.

Your comments reminded me that other people were navigating maintenance, changing appetites, and questions about their treatment. Being able to say, “This is where I am right now,” mattered to me.

I also tried to recognize the everyday choices I felt good about. Preparing breakfast or cooking at home gave me something to appreciate beyond the scale.

Continuing the Conversation

At the time of this video, I was still working toward my own maintenance goals. This was a check-in during an ongoing experience, rather than a finished success story or a formula for someone else.
